You do not need to be a journalist or professional writer. We’re looking for people who know their country’s pickleball community, recognize a great story when they see one, and want to help bring those stories to a global audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scout Local Stories: Identify compelling stories involving players, tournaments, facilities, businesses, organizations, destinations, community initiatives, and other developments within your home country.
- Share Story Ideas: Alert The Pickleball Weekly to interesting stories, emerging trends, important milestones, and breaking developments happening within your country’s pickleball community.
- Connect Our Editorial Team: Introduce us to players, coaches, club owners, federation leaders, tournament directors, businesses, and other individuals who can help us tell the story.
- Provide or Contribute Content: When interested, provide interviews, photographs, videos, research, background information, tournament results, or written articles for consideration.
- Provide Local Perspective: Help us understand how pickleball is developing and adapting culturally, socially, and structurally within your country.
- Capture Local Events and Milestones: Share information and content from tournaments, new facility openings, national championships, product launches, conferences, community events, and other significant developments.
- Represent The Pickleball Weekly: Serve as a trusted local connection to the publication while maintaining professionalism and respecting our editorial standards.
Stories We’re Looking For
Global Pickleball Advocates can help us discover stories ranging from major national developments to grassroots stories that might otherwise go unnoticed. These may include professional and amateur tournaments, rising players, inspiring local figures, youth programs, coaches growing the game, new clubs and facilities, national federation developments, business and industry news, new products and innovations, travel destinations, community initiatives, player development, and human-interest stories.
We’re particularly interested in stories that reveal what makes pickleball different in your country, whether that’s a major milestone for the sport, an emerging player nobody outside the country knows yet, a unique facility or business concept, or the ways local culture is influencing how pickleball is played and experienced.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Passion for pickleball and its continued growth.
- Strong knowledge of or involvement in your country’s pickleball community.
- Connections within the local pickleball industry or a willingness to develop them.
- Ability to recognize interesting, relevant, and newsworthy stories.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to share story leads and connect our editorial team with appropriate sources.
- Writing, photography, journalism, marketing, sports industry, or social media experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to meet agreed-upon deadlines when contributing content for publication.

Location: Worldwide. Applicants are welcome from all countries. Global Pickleball Advocates focus primarily on stories and developments within their home country.
Compensation: This is a volunteer contributor role and is not a paid position. Advocates who contribute original articles or photography receive appropriate published credit and the opportunity to have their work and their country’s pickleball stories presented to The Pickleball Weekly’s international audience. Published articles and photography will remain accessible in our digital magazine and online article archives, providing contributors with an ongoing portfolio of their published work.
